This site is owned and operated by Candid Financial Advice Limited ('we', 'us' or 'our'). We take the privacy and security of your personal information very seriously, as set out below:
When using this website
We do not collect your personal information when entering or using our site except as follows:
If you choose to receive our email newsletter we will collect and store your email address. You can choose to stop receiving these emails at any time using the link contained in every such email.
A cookie consists of a small amount of information sent by our web server to your web browser, where it’s stored. We use two types of cookie:
‘Session’ Cookies
We use these cookies to track the pages and features visited on the site, helping us improve the site moving forwards. These are deleted when you close your browser.
‘Persistent’ Cookies
If you’re a registered client we use these cookies to detect whether you’re logged in. This saves you the hassle of having to login every time you visit the site, if you
select the 'remember me' option when logging in. The cookie will remain stored in your browser until you logout, delete it or it reaches a specified expiry date (latter
two only if you selected 'remember me').
Blocking Cookies
Most browsers allow you to block/reject cookies, please refer to your browser’s help section for information on how to do this. Blocking all cookies will, however, have a negative impact upon the usability of many websites, including this one.
We or our service providers may also use your IP address to collect, among other things, Internet traffic data and data regarding your browser type and computer.
Any information we collect from the use of session cookies and IP address data is aggregated to review overall statistical information, we do not use the information to identify individual site users.
We use Google Analytics to analyse the use of this website. Google Analytics generates statistical and other information about website use by means of cookies, which are stored on users' computers. The information generated relating to our website is used to create reports about the use of the website. Google will store this information. Google's privacy policy is available at: www.google.com/privacypolicy.html.
If you telephone us
We record all telephone calls for quality and regulatory purposes.
If you take advice from us and become a client
In addition to the above, if you ask us to provide you with advice we will register you as a client allowing you to access the client centre on our website, which contains copies of some correspondence as well as some personal information that you supply during the advice process.
During registration we will collect your email address and issue a username and a password (which you can change). Your password is stored in an encrypted format in our database to reduce the risk of it being compromised. Your email address will never be passed to any third parties, unless we are required to do so by law.
During the course of proving you with advice, we store electronically all correspondence, including emails, letters and notes of meetings and calls along with information you might provide. Paper copies may be held short term before shredding.
Email addresses to receive our newsletter are held until you unsubscribe. If you get in touch to discuss taking advice and/or become a client then we hold the information indefinitely. Because we are a regulated firm we might need to rely on this information to demonstrate our advice and/or defend any future claims against us.
Email address newsletter
When we collect an email address for sending our newsletter it will never be passed to any third parties, unless we are required to do so by law.
Clients (including enquiries)
We do not share this information with any external persons or organisations except for application forms being sent to product providers, requests from our regulator the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), third party compliance consultants and being compelled to pass on information as required by law.
We take reasonable precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of your personal information. This includes storing all the personal information you provide on our secure (password and firewall protected) UK based server and using an SSL encryption when you send or receive personal data via our website. However, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you disclose to us or any data sent over the Internet.
You have the right to request a copy of the information we hold about you, although unless you have registered for our newsletter or been in touch with us about using our services then we won’t hold any information about you. To request a copy or make corrections please email hello@candidfinancialadvice.com.
We may periodically update this privacy policy by posting a new version on this website. Changes will become effective as soon as they are posted. You should check this page occasionally to ensure you are happy with any changes.
